The healing comfort of Dogs All volunteer, certified and insured … now on Boston’s North Shore Pet Ministry Therapy Dogs is a robust partnership between All Saints Episcopal Church of the North Shore --and its Perfect Paws Pet Ministry -- and Dog B.O.N.E.S. Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts (www.therapydog.info) that offers the following north of Boston: Dog B.O.N.E.S.Workshops for certification Team mobilization and deployment The Happy Readers Dog Tutors program for reluctant, beginner, and second language readers Participation in animal assisted therapy (available to work with Occupational and Physical Therapists) Participation in animal assisted activities at locations including hospitals, rehab centers, nursing homes, etc. On-going relationships with schools (elementary, middle high schools and colleges and universities), libraries and special needs organizations (i.e. North Shore Arc) On-call to serve as a calming, supportive presence in group situations of trauma and crisis (i.e. annual Survivors of Suicide Loss Conference and Healing, etc.) All of our teams have completed the required "Introduction to Becoming a Therapy Dog Team" certification workshop  and are current in their Dog B.O.NE.S. membership. Our dogs are required to be up-to-date on veterinary health checks and inoculations. Dog inoculation records and the Dog B.O.N.E.S. insurance declaration are available upon request. We are all volunteers and there is never any charge for our appearances.  We visit different venues to share the love of our dogs, bring calm and joy to children and adults in therapeutic environments (i.e. hospitals and rehab) and through animal assisted engagements (i.e. beginner or reluctant readers in libraries and schools). Our dogs have been evaluated and tested for health, safety, appropriate skills and temperament by the renown Dog B.O.N.E.S. Therapy Dogs of Massachusetts. Our goal is to bring comfort and joy to those who need it most … through the graceful ambassadorship of loving canines. Contact us for a visit. You’ll be glad you did.
